Valentines meal with kids...pic heavy

Wife and I usually make it out for a nice meal. This year, didn't happen. 3 kids 3 and under. Working late, just wasn't in the cards on a Tuesday.

Decided to split up a  SRF cap of ribeye, coupled with some lobster tails and wife did some sweet onion garlic Parmesan rissoto snd a broccoli cauliflower casserole.

Turned out great. Nicer than a meal out despite one of twins breaking his ankle after dinner!! Doh!

anywho. Simple salt and pepper on steak. Some home made garlic clarified butter. Cut the bottoms from the tails. Doused in butter. 450 for 8-9 minutes maybe. Maybe shorter! 2 min meat down then she'll down basted with the butter mixture. Steak wasn't thawed completely apparently. Rare center and more banding than I'd like, but actually enjoyed the contrast. Fork tender and so rich and salty it was a treat as usual.  The larger cap steaks are indeed too rich for us to enjoy much of so I like cutting them down to enjoy again. Kids all ate wagyu cap and lobster for dinner like it was normal, which is troubling. The one year old ate as much as my wife.

didnt get plated pics. Too much going on and too hungry!

Finished up dinner with a KBS I found in back of fridge, washed it all down.
