I've always drooled over that Memphis grill after seeing it a few times on Raichlen's Project Smoke.
I like the ability to also be able to grill a steak with that grill.
Look forward to your impressions of it.“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.” ― Philip K. Diçk -
Gonna do a flat iron tomorrow and try out the searing which is normally the Achilles heal of the pellet cookers. It's a beauty. It's not for the thrifty though.HeavyG said:I've always drooled over that Memphis grill after seeing it a few times on Raichlen's Project Smoke.

A pellet smoker is on my list for my next purchase.
I'm hoping to get a Cookshack FEC 120.
I do really like the looks of the Memphis grills as well. I really like the extra cooking space. -
You can turn those ribs 90 degrees and do quite a few. There is also another shelf available between the cooking grid and the top warming shelf.GregW said:A pellet smoker is on my list for my next purchase.

Looks good brother. I've had a few friends ask me about pellet grills.

We've seen an up tic in our Traeger sales the pst couple years. Added these high end Memphis to the store. Looking at a couple other lines too.shtgunal3 said:Looks good brother. I've had a few friends ask me about pellet grills.
They're not live fire cooking by any means, but they have there place and do produce a pretty darn good product. If this thing sears like advertised, it's a formidable cooker. -
Threw on some more yardbird with various rubs and sauces. Followed it up with a seared FI. I have some learning curve with the sear plate, but it clearly works. I'm thinking in combo with some grill grates might be exceptional. We'll see.
Seasoned a a set of grill grates on a kettle while messing around out there. These are for a traeger and Weber Summit. Same size. I will make up a set for the Memphis I think.

Here's the FI.

Great prototype cooks right there. Looks like quite a substantial and versatile rig. Always a plus when you have test run the equipment.
BTW- I just took a look at their site. Way above my pay grade (and fortunately I am at my Q toy limit). I will just enjoy the pics of your efforts.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint. -
Yeah. They are in the "gotta have that" category for sure. I'm enjoying cooking in it. Need to do a butt and brisket trial soon. Thanks for looking.lousubcap said:Great prototype cooks right there. Looks like quite a substantial and versatile rig. Always a plus when you have test run the equipment.
