I've got some OT gai yang wings marinating (will be grilled ony friends Weber kettle later) . Will try some baking powder vs. cornstarch experiments too.

But I don't know what teams are in the Super Bowl. It seems the New England Patriots and the Falcons, but I don't know where they're from and too lazy to google .

So how have you enjoyed Houston this week?  Our daughter says it's been a nuthouse all week.  Traveling anywhere near downtown is a daunting task.

I guess I am for Atlanta, can't stand New England.   As for foof I put on a meatball chili at 10 am.  Getting close to pulling, braking up the meatballs and putting it back on for a few more hours. Only ingredient missing is an Sam Adam's Octoberfest beer.  I thought it needed a little more liquid and the wife suggested beer.

Pork burnt ends in mustard based BBQ sauce, babyback ribs cured for 8 days, brisket burnt ends.  Crapton of wings to get cooked in batches once this starts coming off.  And one experiment I'm borrowing from a steakhouse in Miami, fresh mozzarella rolled in prosciutto and cooked until crispy.  If it works, I'll roll up a bunch more.

@Legume -  great looking groceries but I will be standing by for the moz/prosciutto assessment.  Sounds like a great idea.

Huh. My FIL flew out of Houston yesterday and said the town was empty and boring as hell. They were looking for SB stuff and could only find knock-off stuff by the airport.

We live 12 miles south of the loop and I work in the SE part of the metro area, so I've been blissfully unaware. Wouldn't even know something was going on if it weren't for radio.

Didn't work Cap.  300 on the egg isn't it.  I think they either need to be flash fried or cooked very hot and fast, maybe in a CI pan. Will have to experiment more, just not today.

Pork loin on the HB, 1/2 DIP Mediterranean-ish, 1/2 DP Shakin' the Tree. XL is ready for wings, 1/2 Plowboy's Yardbird, 1/2 DP Jamaican Firewalk. Some of the Firewalk wings will get tossed in Buffalo sauce.

Also added a pan of Mac n' Cheese on the HB after I took the pic.

As far as the game, I'm hoping for a close game and since Matt Ryan is a local guy, pulling for the dirty birds to have a close win at the end of the 4th.

However, I did see 5 fighter jets fly over my house yesterday afternoon. Luckily, I don't have a visa that can be revoked : smiley:

10 minutes later , I saw a biplane fly overhead, with a trailing banner that read "JESUS WAS A REFUGEE". In the opposite direction. Assuming it didn't get shot down. Yet.

I did some of the Underwood's pineapple gems. Some glazed with the sweet jalapeño and some with an apricot glaze. I also bacon wrapped some jalapeño beef sausage and glazed with the sweet jalapeño.

How were they? I tapped out after I pulled the brisket off. Didn't feel like prepping any more food.

They were pretty tasty. I would definitely mix it up a little with the glazes. The wife and I both liked the apricot glaze over the sweet jalapeño although both were excellent. Together they made a great combo with a little different flavor profile.

Then again you could wrap a piece of road gravel in bacon and it would be good...

Good to know because I have 5lbs of the chili rubbed pineapple to eat up.

Since the Cowboys aren't playing, I don't have a favorite team.  I just pulled some Shiracha bbq wings off the Egg and put on some Armadillo Eggs.  I'm preparing beef sliders and Bob Marley dip for dinner and the wife made a blackberry cobbler.
