Durability of a thermapen

Been using mine like this for about 1/2 a year now. Wasn't paying attention and set my woo / plate setter on it after a 400 indirect cook. It stayed on it for about 30 minutes.

Still works fine though I can't see the hundreds didget, however I know it will always be a 1 there, so I only really need the ones and tens spot.

Checked for the heck of it today. Boiling water at 211. Great product!

    I would send it back and demand that they honor the warranty and if they don't throw a fit on the internet!!!! Just kidding that does show how tough they are!! I am a firm beleiver in products that are built to take a beating and still work as the should.

    I don't think that'll be a big deal to fix. You just need half the case replaced. Send 'em that pic and ask. And if you're a Gators fan, get the orange version.

    Yeah the red one doesn't melt either. 

    I bet they would charge you the normal $25 refurb fee. Or wear it like a badge of honor.
