I just had Domino's that was ordered at work. I thought to myself, "Europeans must hate us for pizza alone"

    Yours looks fantastic!

Yeah, I can't do Dominos! Since I started cooking these on the Egg, there hasn't been much delivery to my house!

I honestly didn't know what to expect when calling for pizza today. I bet I've called maybe 2-3 times ever for pizza. We have a couple good pizza places in town that we will pick up from. We grab Papa Murphys if not wanting to make pizza. Hard to beat homemade pizza though

expect a pizza that's significantly degraded from its starting point.  If it's from Dominos which sucks under the best of circumstances it's really gonna suck, if it's from a good pizza place it's not gonna be as good as if you ate it there.  Cardboard boxes are not kind to pizza.

  • Pizza looks fantastic.  I did my first BBQ chicken pizza on store-bought crust and it was every bit as good as I was hoping it would be.   Never done the pulled pork, but when I do my next butt I'm setting some aside for this.

I done both pulled pork pizza and BBQ chicken pizza, both were great and I need to some more again when it warms up and I am feeling better.  As for Domino's they are better they were in the 90's.  I don't care much for Pizza Hut now and we usually get Papa Murphy's as will if get anything to bring home.  We have pretty good places to go out for pizza like Grinders or Spin Pizza.

I don't care much for any of the big chain pizza joints. I like a few of the smaller places around where I live, but now that I'm doing them on the BGE, I won't be buying many more!

@Skrullb, if you haven't tried them, Castiglias on William St is great. They have a deck oven as well as wood fired. Both are good, but the smaller pies from their wfo are awesome, far better than anything I've ever able to do on my egg or oven.!

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Oh yes, I know that place! I lived a block from there years ago. I went there probably twice a week. Loved their Sicilian! They've grown up and changed a lot since then...they are doing rooftop seating now.

A buddy of mine has a wood fired pizza place on the Eastern Shore of MD....the best pizza I've had. He does a crab dip pizza and a Reuben pizza that's so good, it'll make you wanna smack your mama!
