I usually go by the Mexican grocery. They have fresh lard. I think it's around $2.99 for a quart container. I'm certain it's not from a pedigreed pig, but it serves it's purpose.

I keep mine in a 28-oz tomato can, and in the cupboard, not the frig. It keeps at room temperature.
It's not "Epic", though.
