I've noticed some people wrap the plate setter with aluminum foil and others don't. I personally do not wrap, I just let it get happy. Let me know what you think.

I don't wrap, but I also never have anything dripping on the platesetter thanks to drip pan.Stillwater, MN

I like keeping things clean - in general. I don't like to smell food drippings from another cook when I'm in the middle of a new cook, but that's just me.I've slow smoked and eaten so much pork, I'm legally recognized as being part swine - Chatsworth Ca.

Wrapper here! What turns off some people and not others is a personal choice so whatever rocks your boat is fine with me!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

I find that chicken fat is the worst possible grease to get either on the PS or the lump other than that, I don't sweat it too much. Wrap sometimes not others. Not at all concerned about beef fat. Pork fat , maybe. Poultry yes , wrap.

I do use a drip pan but I don't wrap. I just scrape and go. I will put it in for a clean burn every now and then.
