I suppose if you have the counter space (which I don't), it would be a cool way to hold knives.

Agree that wall mounted is preferable in order to keep counter space clutter-free. The magnetic bars also display more nicely because they're all along a single row.

Most things on my countertop get pushed to the backsplash, making some of those knives harder to get to.  Would be ok if it spun around.

Seems kinda bulky for as few knives as it will actually hold. Also, it won't hold ceramic knives so I would still need other storage. I'll stick with a normal knife block.
