Bro works at Alcoa(scalloped corn, deviled eggs, green bean casserole)
Sis a CNA(taters, dressing, gravy)
Pops is retired(turkey)
Held off due to work schedules until today.
Decided to try setting 4 instead of 5 on the lasagna noodles. Used Vetri's Egg Yolk Dough. Venison ragu was egged.
Think I'm getting close to a 3 cheese blend.
This cook is dedicated to the southern brothers and sisters, who may have been forced to plan B.

Spent almost 3 hrs start to finish with the bechamel, blanching the noodle, grating and assembling.

Baked a 2lber this morning in the oven.

Everything came together in, and on, the hot box.

"The relish in the deviled eggs feels like I'm eating a cold raw hot dog with mustard and relish."
"What is this clump in my taters."
"The green bean casserole tastes like it was done 30 min ago."
"The lasagna is too gamey."
"Bread is just too soft for my liking."
"You couldn't do better than Spotted Cow?"
Just another day of a$$holery at the Nickerson table. Wouldn't want it any other way quite honestly.

Time for another beer and a birch tipped blacky.
Thanks fer lookin'.

Very nice!
For the first time ever it was just me and my wife for Thanksgiving Day.
Our meal of choice? Lasagna!
I've never cared for turkey and pumpkin pie and the traditional fixings (tho strangely I do have a liking for that canned cranberry jelly stuff that so many folks deride) so I could not have been happier.“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.” ― Philip K. Diçk -
Nice spread! The airing of grievances aside, Now onward to the feats of strength.

No concealed weapons allowed I guess! Food looks delicious in spite of those rumblings!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

Looking good Focker - nice spread.
It sounds like the opposite of a Canadian T-giving. You know someone is absolutely furious when they ask for the gravy and forget to say please.

Thanks, I'm with ya on turkey, its in the same category for me as brisket. Same goes for the sides, pumpkin and pecan pie, overrated IMO.HeavyG said:Very nice!

Have some rhubarb in the freezer, but lacked the time to pull it off. Apple is great this time of year.
Sister wanted to cook the turkey her employer gave her.
In 15 years, this was our first bird that wasn't smoked...and nobody stroked out.

Thanks bud. So glad my fam doesn't operate like that. I doubt I would come over, if that were the case. lolblasting said:

My adopted Italian mother from Brooklyn aporoved of the lasagna. And she would definitely let me know if it wasn't up to snuff. One of the many reasons we love her.
