Thank You Whoever You Are

I haven't posted here in over a year; we've been busy with life changes and relocation.  FWIW:  we brought our eggs along with us.

A little over a year ago, at an Egg Fest near Seattle, we met someone who gave us a recipe for grilled Tri Tip.  About 6 months ago, I finally had the opportunity to try it.  OMG - game changer!  It is now part of our regular rotation, and I just wanted to thank whoever that was.

We'll be making this for our guests for Christmas dinner this year - it is that good.  Happy Holidays!

Here's the jist of the recipe:

1 2-lb. tri-tip roast

1 c. soy sauce

1/2 c. brown sugar

1/4 c. yellow mustard

1 T. onion powder

1 T. garlic powder

1 T. black pepper

1 pinch red pepper flakes

Marinade for 12 hours.

Smoke raised, direct (cover closed) with apple wood at 225-250
degrees to desired temperature - 120 degrees for medium rare (40 minutes to 1 hour).

Rest and slice against the grain.
