Think this was a good find

Found this at my local Wally World - was looking for a small (5lb or so) flat to make corned beef but they only had $6.00 per lb  for that size and they looked awful.  The larger ones were too large - 20lb or so.  I moved one of the packers they had and noticed this.  Thinking of using part of the flat for corned beef and making brisket on the egg with the wonderful fatty end.

Net of about 1.79 per lb is pretty good price for around here.

    That's not bad at all.
Your location is what makes something a good deal...or not.
Finding good prices on brisket in South Texas is not very hard.
Finding a very nice trip-tip at a good price can be a challenge.
Or nice fresh, wild caught salmon...
Let us know how it turns out.
    Thank you,

  • My oldest daughter is in Kingwood (Houston area) and she said the same thing. Still doesn't want to bring me one, though, so Ill make her eat this one for Thanksgiving.

Good find brother!  And I like your plan for that hunk of cow.
