Some skirt action and smores

https://youtu.be/u7aDstrDMf0Trying to come out of a funk I've had for a while now. We were grocery shopping today and there were some great deals on meat that were marked down. I thought I'd get some to vac seal and freeze and to cook today and tomorrow.
One of the items was a decent looking skirt steak.
Made an infused oil for a marinade. Heated some canola oil in a skillet. Threw in a couple cloves of minced fresh garlic and a handful of Montreal Steak Seasoning.
Let that merry a little until the garlic was getting somewhat brown. Added some woreshire sauce at the end, let cool, and throw it on the skirt.
Made a simple sauce that consisted of red wine, balsamic vinegar, honey, salt, pepper, and white wine vinegar (at the end).
Turned out decent. Cooked over Rockwood around 500° direct.
Ended the meal with smores.

2 - Skirt is looking mighty fine!

3 - Wife made her specialty cheese potatoes (they did NOT disappoint either).

Time for dessert!

Nice steak and potatoes, but to be completely honest, I would skip right to the smores...
I'm a sucker for smores.

You're like my brother. He would eat the smores first then the steak and potatoes. Wife wanted chocolate on top and bottom, it was a good move.DMW said:Nice steak and potatoes, but to be completely honest, I would skip right to the smores...

Great looking Night o Food there!!Just bought an Egg? Here is what you get to look forward to now:

The smores look wonderful. It shows some nice patience on keeping the marshmallows golden brown instead of being in a hurry, starting them on fire and being left with crispy and black. Having said that, I would not have any room for desert if there was enough of that marvelous steak laying around. That is absolutely out of sight.Stillwater, MN

My wife and little girl loved them, so yeah they pretty much too center stage. For me, I can take them or leave them. I'd rather have more meat and potatoes !tikigriller said:You just knew s'mores were going to take center stage, didn't ya!?!?

How long and at what temp did you leave the smores? Cause my wife and son will def love that.ATL

Great photos and inspirational too. I'm gonna try s'mores soon.

Temp was around 350°. After I pulled the skirt, I brought the bottom down to about a 1/4" open for idle until ready for smores. I didn't want a hot egg, as I wanted the chocolate and marshmallows to be melted nicely. Not sure if the skewers worked that well as they started drooping after a while. Not sure any way around that though.Manvsmolar said:How long and at what temp did you leave the smores? Cause my wife and son will def love that.
