Breakfast on a Grill Mat

Once again, I happened on what appeared to be a nice accessory for the Big Green Egg. A Grill Mat. They come in pairs.

I was surprised to learn that I already had some. I seem to recall buying them about three or four years ago. And somehow they got shoved in the space between lost and found.

When it dawned on me that I had some, I just had to try them out.

So I decided on breakfast, an easy and forgiving meal if there ever was one.

Here's the story.

  • I'm curious what purpose this really serves other than to say that you can? Maybe for fish? Or its the end of the world and you want to grill but are still worried about cleaning up?

I do it for the same reason the climber shimmies up the mountain - because its there.  Other than that, I'm just playing with my food.

Great looking breakfast! It is nteresting that you baked bread on the griddle, then griddled breakfast on the egg :). The chicken plays by no mans' rules. :chicken:

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

Rules!!!  What rules?  This is the Chicken Ranch!  The only rule here is to have fun.

When I left this morning, Wifee said we should have Enchilada's tonight so she was going to just throw them in the over.  I about lost it, as  I had to explain to her that the "rules" in our house have permanently CHANGED, as the Egg is our new oven!!!!!
Just bought an Egg?  Here is what you get to look forward to now:

Plate Setter, FlameBoss 200, Spider, PSWOO-CI, Additional Rig Shelf for dome cooking, Thermapen, iGrill2, Cast Iron, Blackstone, Cooking Accessories for the Blackstone, Cover for the Egg and the Blackstone, shopping for Rub like a fine wine or IPA, and a new fascination with lump and what brand is the best-all to be debated every Friday Night.  Next desires-Joetisceriie, Adjustable Rig, Grillmates, table and more eggs
