What would be a fair price for this package? Large egg 1 year old with maybe 12 cooks on it (Never went higher than about 700 degrees for pizza), BGE Nest, grate gripper, ash tool, and 2 bags of Rockwood.
I wanted to sell everything but it proves to be difficult to do that way since most people probably don't want to spend so much at once.

I hope you find a buyer, but your post makes me sad.

Well, not to be that guy, but you can buy essentially the same thing with a platesetter at an Eggfest for 795 or so WITH a warranty, so I would think a few 100 less than that.A31unit said:What would be a fair price for this package? Must have been a hard and sad decision based on the nice toys you've accumulated.

What is the asking price for the whole deal with the table?
-
$1,750. That's about $600 less than I bought everything for and I valued the table at $500Step out of the way Butch

Then I guess I'm hoping that not everybody from my area can make the trip to an egg fest.bo31210 said:

Sorry to see you're selling. fwiw, if your looking for the most $ out of it, I'd list the egg stripped. Then when people come to buy it, complete the sale and then offer to show them your accessories. If the new buyer doesn't want them, sell the accessories on ebay or CL - either bundled or individually.
Selling a package deal will result in you getting less, but then again it will all be done at one time.Phoenix -

I'd offer $899 for the whole deal, nothing has a warranty. -
Half.A31unit said:What would be a fair price for this package?I don’t get the impression that a lot of people that buy ceramics understand the value of the warranty & how much of the purchase price is dedicated to that directly or indirectly. I’ve replaced almost my entire egg through the warranty, one or two pieces at a time. The stories like this are countless & one buddy in particular is on his 2nd new dome in addition to replacing the base, fire box & ring one time (so far). Point being that if you buy an egg & use it regularly you will likely replace it piece by piece yielding an entirely different egg than the one you first brought home, & you might do this more than once. To me that puts the value of the warranty in the purchase price right at every bit of 50% assuming you’re lucky & your rebuilt egg lasts forever… Given that I wouldn’t consider giving anyone a penny more than half of the retail price even if the thing was a day old & still in the box, it simply isn’t worth more than that to me. But the world is full of people that haven’t learned these lessons first hand & don’t bother doing the research so they’ll pay more, unfortunately many of them will learn the hard way it was a mistake. It’s not so much that the egg depreciates in value by half as soon as you drive it off the lot because it maintains its value to you, the original buyer (an egg to cook on or its progeny for the rest of your life), rather it’s that the consideration you’ve paid for half its purchase price becomes a legal nullity upon transfer.
