Shady Maple Farm Market 2.69 lb Brisket!!

Options
Any eggheads from central PA Lancaster area ever bought brisket or any kind of meat or brisket from the Shady Maple farm market?  I saw in this week's flyer they have choice whole briskets for only $2.69 a lb which is far and away the best price I've seen in PA.  I wanted to see if anyone could comment on quality before I pick up some.

Yes, I love Shady Maple and picked up my 18 lb packer there last weeek. The brisket is choice grade.  They have enough that you can find floppy ones.

Yes, they are.  Definitely worth a trip.  @DMW told me about Shady Maple about a year ago and my wife and I get there now as often as we can.  We live real close to a Wegmans, but for meats and produce, I find Shady Maple to be far superior in quality, variety and price.Another personal favorite from there that I haven't seen elsewhere: Hmong sausuge.  Yum.

@QingEsq. Never herd of Hmong sausage. Just looked it up.  Sounds very interesting.

Have bought a few briskets from Shady Maple and reported on them in other posts.  I've noticed that they are carrying USDA Choice grade again. For a while they only had Select grade or ungraded briskets.

@QingEsq What does this mean?  I am going to grab a brisket from Costco, which will be my first one, and want to get a good one, so is there some sort of trick when digging through the options of a brisket like when I buy an avocado?

(I want to practice on a Costco one before springing for a SRF one...)

Just bought an Egg?  Here is what you get to look forward to now:

Plate Setter, FlameBoss 200, Spider, PSWOO-CI, Additional Rig Shelf for dome cooking, Thermapen, iGrill2, Cast Iron, Blackstone, Cooking Accessories for the Blackstone, Cover for the Egg and the Blackstone, shopping for Rub like a fine wine or IPA, and a new fascination with lump and what brand is the best-all to be debated every Friday Night.  Next desires-Joetisceriie, Adjustable Rig, Grillmates, table and more eggs

Just stopped in today.  Awesome store!  Picked up a choice brisket and some ground pork and ground veal for meatballs.

@tikigriller- Look for a brisket with an even thickness flat and that is floppy, not stiff. Briskets thst bend and flex, tend to cook up more tender.

I was at Shady Maple yesterday and they had a large number of USDA Choice briskets for the same $2.69/pound.  Didn't see it in their weekly ad so maybe this will be their price for a while.
