What are your LOW and SLOW plans for the weekend?

I'm smoking something for Labor Day, but I'm not yet sure what it will be...

Was hoping to get some inspiration from some of the fine cooks you fine folks have planned!

No inspiration here-but doing some beef ribs Sat or Sun and a pork butt (for the local firefighters) Mon.
Hot cook Monday for the home-front is Paella (seafood based and I got my hands on some Bomba rice).  Can't wait.  FWIW-

@KiterTodd , I would offer that you should move it up in the rotation.  Here's a great link for the preps and cook if you haven't already checked it out:

I want to do a butt, but I can't cook this weekend! I could just sit beside my egg for hours with it running and nothing in it and be happy, but I would probably be hungry at the end. I am envious of you guys doing a low and slow this weekend.

Smoking a butt to carry to the lake. If I was home I'd do a brisket.

I'm single while Grandma SWMBO is still in San Diego taking care of Daughter and Grandson. Son-in-Law sent pics from his helo over Pearl Harbor and will be home to meet his new son in 12 days!

As far as cooks,  I've been pondering myself.

    Making decisions, however......

    Pizza

    Short Ribs

    Wings

    Burgers

Should get me through the first long glorious weekend of College Football!

Had been planning on going camping, so everything would have been cooked on a Weber Smokey Joe.  However, since it looks like we'll be getting the tail end of a tropical storm, including 2-3 inches of rain and 45-50 mph winds, that's gonna get canceled.  Now I need to plan something different.

Planning on a Costco 3 pack of ribs  with smoked mac & cheese for a side, if I really luck out maybe a reverse sear steak dinner as well!

I'm looking forward to some low and slow after a couple of weeks from hell.

Brisket, or ribs - depends what mood I'm in at RD on Saturday.  Maybe even fire up the stick burner, although still too hot for hammock time.

  • Already started off with some reverse seared thick cut pork chops tonight....

For the weekend, I'm a little hamstrung.  My lovely bride of 18 years (this past week) will be running a half marathon Monday morning.  I was planning to do a beach run Fri night, but it looks like a Trop Depression will be running across the GA coast right about then...

So, since the weather won't be cooperating, I grabbed some country-style pork ribs and will be doing some pork-butt burnt ends to be nibblers for the Chick-Fil-A game in Atlanta.
