Has anyone rediscovered their own cooks when searching the forum for ideas?
I admittedly have a bad memory (but strangely could always remember a girl's phone number when I'd get one in bars. before cell phones, kids, when you couldn't just send a text). Anyway, a nice perk is that like many of you I chronicle the occasional noteworthy cook here... to share stoke, get tips, feedback, and general commentary.
Happens to me every once in a while and just came up again today. I'm camping this weekend, thought folks here may have some good cook ideas...and I got two solid tips! (both of them mine...one I had completely forgotten about)
So tomorrow night I'm making this....again.

What was the pictured cook because it looks tasty?

I had done a search for "campfire cook" and got to this thread I posted two years ago;GATraveller said:What was the pictured cook because it looks tasty?
OT CAMPFIRE Smoked Seafood Stew!
I'm making it tomorrow night, but with tuna, clams, shrimp and andouille sausage. Otherwise, same recipe, same pan, not sure yet what campsite. We paddle in by kayak and see what looks good.

@KiterTodd: I thought I was good at remembering girls' phone numbers too - so easy to remember those beginning with the "555" prefix.

That looks really, really, REALLY good! The stew itself, but imagining the way it tasted cooking it over a campfire -- WOW!!!

I've done that before....found an old cook I forgot about, not the stew. But the Seafood stew looks great.

Seeing Ron in jean shorts isn't enough "forum benefit" for you?

That looks pretty good!Phatchris said:
But I can't fit a log on the kayak and I don't have a chainsaw for a nice cut...well, not usually. My neighbor brings one in his canoe when he joins me.
That said, I like the simplicity of that. But nothing beats a big roaring campfire when you're camping out! As long as you have a good wood supply and you don't live in an area with a high forest fire risk, I guess.
