    So one thing to clarify again- when you access the status page outside of your network you shouldn't be using 192.168.29.174.  You should be using your public IP address that you can find by googling "ip address".

    @SmokeyPitt
    That's 100% what I wasn't doing after submitting everything. I wasn't looking for the new ip address. So anytime from here on out I'll use that to check my Stoker Status page outside my wifi?
    Yes, when not on your local network, you will use the public IP address to access the Stoker.

    The Stoker has been a paper weight the last 9+ months. I'm so pumped to get this thing up and running. Couldn't have done it without all your help. Thanks: @Hotch @4Runner @SmokeyPitt @Thecoiman @DMW and everyone else. If we ever cross paths the beer is on me. You guys could have easily looked past this post and not commented. So thanks for your time and help. Much appreciated. Cheers!

    GOT IT!!!!!!!! Holy crap was that some work. Thank you guys sooooooooo much.

    One more question. Will I have to switch anything around between each use of the Stoker or will all this information stay put?
    The local IP should stay put now that you have a reservation in the DHCP server. However, your public IP address from your ISP may change over time. Before leaving, check what your public IP is.
    Every time I fire up the Stoker I have to look up the IP address from my ISP as it changes from time to time.  I use Pit Pal so I have to update that setting when it changes.  Inconvenient but not a show stopper.

    Set your Stoker IP in your router to a static IP. (I have a 10 IP range set for Static IP's) Then set the Static IP in your Stoker. Life got easier.

    @weberwho, you might want to set the stoker password by going to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/ro.html. This way you can share with your friends your stoker information but they can not change anything. If you have friends like mine they will want to mess you.

    That is a good point to note.  Your public IP address can change so you have to check it periodically.  @4runner mentioned a service that will allow you to register a URL to a dynamic IP address.

    I just searched and found this one as well that is free.

    Thanks for the tip! @Thecoiman

    My friends cook on gassers so they definitely can't be trusted!

    While this is neat, unless you have your network fire walled and NAT'd...you could be opening yourself up for some headache....I created a silo'd network for my stoker..The below article is a reference to cameras, but it is the same principal..

    I agree, a VPN would most likely be the best setup. It is what I used from my office back when I was employed!

    My Stoker is only on my network every now and then so I'm not worried about it....that and my IT buddies performing a penetration test on my network quarterly.   lol

    @Thecoiman - how does that work again?  I don't share the link for that very reason.

    @4runner - if you type your address /ro.html and set the stoker to read only and a password when you go back to the status everything is read only. The when you want to change something go back the ro page and turn off read only.
