Newbie Dome Adjustment Question

I have this gap in the back I can't seem to get rid of. It was pretty much like this when the dealer delivered it. The gap goes around almost half the dome. Didn't realize it until they were gone and did my first cook and noticed smoke coming out of the back. They sent a person back out the next day and it was better. I used this link on here - http://eggheadforum.com/discussion/1184611/align-your-bge-cover-in-10-easy-steps-w-pics#latest to attempt to align the bit of an under-bight I have. Seems doing that procedure brought the gap in the back to life again. I really don't feel comfortable asking the dealer to come out again, even tough I've had it about a week, due to my messing with it and the fact they didn't charge me a delivery fee. They are only about a mile from my house so will be in there a lot. Don't want them to think I'm trying to be a pain in the rear customer. :)  The front sits OK, under-bight is a little better. I can live with that. However, this gap in the back is bad. I assume it would affect my low & slow smokes. Haven't done one yet but was thinking about a nice pork butt sometime this weekend. So....what exactly affects the dome sitting jacked up in the back? Which parts/pieces do I need to adjust? Sending a couple of pics. Hope that helps. Thanks!

Jamie.

HUH??? Did they give you that egg or did you pay them good money for it? I bet not, so it was delivered with a problem and they need to come back and make it right!

From the picture, it looks like the band on the lid isn't on correctly. Loosen the top band until you can get the lid to sit properly on the base and then tighten it up.  To loosen the lid, make sure you don't mess with the hinge assembly.  You want to loosen the bolt that is on the top band.  It is probably a little bent. Most are.  I hope this helps!

Just thinking the same thing ... you paid a lot of money for your egg, just ask - nicely I'm sure they'll be more than happy to come out.

Totally get it. You need to understand how best to support your Egg. Use your dealer for warranty parts. Your Egg cooks so you are good to go.
Try loosening your bands and adjusting.  I've found having the lower band up high and parallel to base lip,and the upper band down low and parallel to the done lip is a great start.  Also, after the a Egg is warm, go ahead and tighten the nuts again.  Worked for me and alignment is near perfection.  Good luck.
