Stone or Brick Veneer

Finally got my patio poured and now I am in outdoor kitchen planning mode.  Looking at materials to use for the exterior of the island.  Looks like a stone or brick veneer is the way to go, but man it is expensive.  Anyone have any recommendations on brands or sites to buy it at good prices.  Would prefer to use panels as opposed to having to mount each brick or stone and mortar it.  I've looked at Lowes, Home Depot, and FauxPanels.com.

Thanks!

Not a kitchen....but a suggestion. In my city there are a couple of companies that sell stone like you would use for retaining walls. I purchased a discontinued model for pennies on the dollar. Granted the pics below are not of a kitchen....but you get the picture. The beauty is you simply glue them with a masonry glue....so no motor. As a side note, I did mine 9 years ago and would not tackle it at my age. It is a lot of heavy lifting...which might be part of your consideration as mentioned above.

  • ^^^^Nice.

This is is how I'm planning on doing my fire pit in the backyard. It's cheaper and pretty resilient. We used them for by buddy's Egg set up and just put a piece of granite we got from another friend that had a chip in it so we cut holes and BAM. Grill space  good solution since it wasn't his forever house and planned on moving in like 3 years

  • You should visit your local landscape supply store. They usually will have options for different types of fake and natural stone veneer. This is a kitchen we did at my dad's house. It is a natural stone veneer. Costs a little more but looks waaay better than the fake stone.

Side note: He dropped in a really expensive gas grill in the kitchen. A couple months after the job was done, we became a dealer of BGE. That gas grill has not been used once!
