Thoughts on Black Canyon Angus

Black Canyon Angus is available locally for $6.99 lb for T-Bone or Porterhouse, any thoughts? Run away, look closer, buy a whole one and wet age? Thanks for any insight. It does not state "Certified" and there is no FDA ranking stated in ad.
Thanks for any input.

If you look up the company's own web site, it mentions that it produces Choice and Select grades. So you need to look at the package.

Also, says midwest grain fed. Gotta say, don't know of any canyons in the midwest.

"Certified" is a pretty loose term. It just means that the animal had mostly black hide. Good chance its genetically Angus, which has better marbling than average. But its not an absolute.

If it looks good, nicely marbled, give it a go, its a decent price.

They sell Black Canyon at my local Mom and Pop place who is also partnered with IGA.  I buy their meat.  I like to buy from these places.  They'll still carry the groceries out to your car if you want.

Thank's for the input, I'm going to run into town and check it out in the morning. I'll follow up with what I find. Any other thoughts are surely welcome.
