Plate setter Cracked

Unfortunately, had my LBGE fired up hot this weekend and the plate setter cracked.  I've had my egg for about four years, so it has been heated countless times with no issues.  I'm wondering if I have any warranty options rather than having to shell out another $100 for new one.  Anybody else experience this?

thanks in advance!

  • I think it's one the website, and someone can correct me if I am mistaken, but I believe they are only warrantied for three years from date of purchase (as are pizza stones).

I would get an Adjustable Rig, R&B Combo, from the Ceramic grill store before I'd shell out $100!

Yes it is only three years from date of purchase per my local dealer.  I had to have a cracked one replaced just last month.  Only had it 6 months so we were all good.

Thanks for the replies.  Sounds like I'm past the warranty period and out of luck.  As for the adjustable rig, how is that keeping the firebox from flaring up and cooking uneven on a long cook?  I appreciate the help

I second the R&B combo from CGS. Much more versatile. It comes with an oval ceramic deflector that sits on the lowest level (or any for that matter) much better for ribs, brisket, and butts.

cracked and borken, or cracked but together?

mine's cracked but still together.  only the legs bear any weight, so it may hold up a while (mine has)
