Just looking at the grocery store weekly ad and I see these steaks advertised.  Any experience out there?  6.99 ea. for a 6 oz. portion.  Shall I purchase?  No previous experience here with SRF.  Thanks.

I haven't tried them but that seems like a great price for Wagyu.  $16.00 for 6 oz on their web site.  If it is $6.99 at your grocery store I would jump on at least a couple to try out.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

As above, easy to spend your $$ but if SRF then you have found a great deal.  Go forth and enjoy.

Not sure what "American style Kobe" is and should I just grill or marinate?  At any rate, I'll be at that store so I'll pick up a few and try them!  I'm just wondering if I should get several and vacuum seal/freeze for future use.

  • If they are 7 bucks each I'd buy em all.

@BBQBuddy  ever since getting my food saver i'm always on the hunt for deals on good meat whether i plan on cooking that night or not! couple days ago i found a managers special on steaks approaching their sell buy date, not brown or anything, 3 packages each containing 2 five ounce filet mignon (choice) for 10$ a package. 5$ per steak, I bought all 3 packages!

From what I understand, "American style Kobe" is usually waygu cattle bred with angus.  At least I believe that's what SRF beef is.  I personally wouldn't marinate as I'd think it would cover up the natural flavor of the beef.  Just S&P for me
