Moisture on top of grill

Started heating up tonight for steaks and didn't do anything different but went out to check temp and it was at 500 but there was moisture beads all over the top.   Anyone know why this would happen?

Couple quick points --
- XL egg
- didn't rain last night
- don't cover it
- had daisy wheel inside and ceramic top on with damper closed
- cooked on it last night and didnt have this issue.

If its an old egg, it might just be some crud coming out of the pores. Wouldnt worry about it.

Any egg. Not an 'old egg' thing

  • Have only had egg about two months maybe.  Also putting off a "new oven and burning off all the oil" smell.   But doesn't transfer to food.   First time it's happened.
