Compound Butter with My Favorite Rub, Who Knew?
Hotch
Posts: 3,564
Years ago we switch back to using real butter. Keep it in a butter dish on the counter. I like butter, but was thinking it needed a kick. So last weekend when Kelley (@EggObsessed) and Bruce (@NoJokeSmoke) were here I decided to make some compound butter with their "It's My Rub" Power Blend. This compound butter stuff is a game changer!
After letting it setup in the fridge for a day, took it out and set it on the counter. After about 4-5 days the flavor just keeps getting more intense.
I will keep this one in my wheelhouse from now on!

I think I may need a stick for every Rub I have!!
Around 20 would be nice!!
I was just thinking of how great it would be to drop a slice on a steak just before taking it off the Egg.

@Hotch, so glad to hear you're enjoying the compound butter. We tried some of ours on blackened tilapia the other night, and just bought ribeyes to try it on. What's good on a nice, juicy, fatty ribeye???? Not just more fat.....flavorful fat.....compound butter!KelleyEgging with No Joke Smoke (Bruce), enjoying small town life in Brenham, TX., the home of Blue Bell Ice Cream. Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.
