Beer Can Chicken

Dying to do the beer can chicken thing. Do I need a drip pan? Any other helpful hints for a flavorful outcome would be welcome. Thanks

    This is how I do them. You don't need the fancy holder, you can use a beer can instead. Put it in a pan like this or raise your grid and put a drip pan under it.
    Rub it with EVOO then season to your liking. Drink or pour half of the beer out and then place it on the can. Get your egg to 350 and put whatever smoke you like in. Cook until the breast is 170 to 180.

    No. Let it breath. At least I never do. Experiment with liquid for the beer can. You can use wine, and all kinds of other stuff.
