Can someone post the link to the knife on amazon? Think it was made by dexter but can't remember and can't find it.

I have the victorinox one......14" not serrated, but has the bevels in it to cut down the surface tension.

I have both. I like the dexter the best but it wreaks havoc on a cutting board.stlcharcoal said:I have the victorinox one......14" not serrated, but has the bevels in it to cut down the surface tension.Little Rock, AR

I like the Dexter for more things that just brisket. It's a meat slicing machine.Biggreenpharmacist said:

You can find it cheaper than it is on Amazon right now...google: dexter s140-12sc-pcp
You can also find it locally at a restaurant supply store.Just a hack that makes some $hitty BBQ.... -
Do you like the smooth edge or the serrated better?cazzy said:You can find it cheaper than it is on Amazon right now...google: dexter s140-12sc-pcp

Restaurant depot only had the smooth edge in 12". I thought I remembered people preferring the aerated.cazzy said:You can find it cheaper than it is on Amazon right now...google: dexter s140-12sc-pcp

Both are excellent if they are very sharp. The serrated one will stay sharper much longer which is good if sharpening your knives is not in your expertise. I have both and choose the Dexter.Large BGE

Serrated, which they call scalloped. I use it for brisket, sausage, ribs, steaks/chops (if I slice before I serve), chicken and tenderloins. It's a work horse and I still haven't sharpened mine after 3 years of use.Photo Egg said:

Guy at work makes jerky all the time and slices with the one I gave him. I think he uses it for everything.------------------------------

I just picked a 12 inch Dexter with scallops today for 24.99. I just happened upon it. then come home and see this posting. I had to laugh and also felt reassured on my gamble.

After one round with the Dexter on my Boos, I rolled into Costco and picked up a big plastic NSF board for slicing meats and what-not. Much more palatable to see grooves in that 12 dollar board vs my "definitely not 12 dollar" Boos board.Lit said:Thanks guys and also for the heads up on the cutting board. -

Nothing like slicing up some pizza after trimming up some linoleum. Adds that je ne sais quoi parmigiano never can.DoubleEgger said: -
I love my 12" Granton edge Victorinox.

For serrated blades, pizza cutters, and cleavers, it's nice to have bamboo. So many knifesnobs hate on it, but it does serve a purpose, at least in my kitchen.BrandonQuad Cities
