smoked some chicken quarters with Lane's Sweet Heat and Pork U's garlic 101... Smoked with cherry wood at 250 until internal temp of 165. Later for dessert i tried my hand at the cedar planked pears i saw on the BGE website. Bartlett pears brushed with melted butter/honey and topped with crumbled blue cheese.

HurricaneEddie how were the pears? I was thinking of something like this last week because peaches weren't ready yet. But I thought maybe blue cheese would be a little strong and was thinking of some other cheese to put on there.

THAT is not a terrible idea. Maybe with some honey or a balsamic reduction.Jstroke said:I would use Brie. And put it on late"Brought to you by bourbon, bacon, and a series of questionable life decisions."

The blue cheese wasn't overpowering. The pears held up well, was still soft in center while crunchy on outside.Killit_and_Grillit said:HurricaneEddie how were the pears?
