Looking to Purchase a Daisy Wheel

Hey folks, I'm not looking for a freebie, I am looking to buy a Daisy Wheel from possibly someone who has went the Smokeware route and is not gonna be using the original dampner.

I have $$ and am prepared to pay.

Thanks ~ Tim

Glad you got what you are looking for Tim.

I'm curious, for you or anyone anyone else who prefers the DW - what is it you like about it over the smokeware?

Not trying to change minds here, just wondering.

@blasting I have never tried the smokeware cap. I might like it, but I have always just used the daisy wheels that came with my eggs. I never egg in the rain so that isn't a problem for me.

Damn...surprised the "you NEED a Smokeware crew" hasn't shown up yet...I see that sevreal folks have stepped up so this is not of any use...
Daisy wheels are available on Ebay.
FWIW...I have it on good authority....the local distributor for Eggs....that a new style DW is coming out. If I remember right it will not have the tears anymore...will just slide...

Why waste money on something that does absolutely nothing the Daisy  wheel can't do?

BGE uses TelTru thermos now. Maybe they made a similar deal with Smokeware. They could call it "Eggware". =)

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Hey guys, I actually am in the processing of receiving a SmoBot Temp controller and I want to get a second Daisy wheel to permanently attach it to.

Figured something was up with that.  Only reason to go back to a DW when you have a SW.

In some cases what is old is now new, but my bet is someone at BGE corporate has figured out 3 cast iron pieces are more expensive to produce than 2 pieces. You know saving dimes here and dollars there mean a better profit margin.

The DW holds low temp a lot better than my Gen 1 SW cap. It snuffs out the fire a lot better than the SW cap. I don't have to buy yet another accessory to extinguish the fire. I've never had a fire go out in the rain so in my opinion, the DW outperforms the SW cap but it doesn't look as sexy.  Like many egg accessories, the SW cap solves a problem that never really existed in the first place.

Just my .02. Your experience may vary.

You're only saying that because I got 3 big chunks of Black Cherry tree trunk from your Dad today! OTOH he did say you didn't want them...I'll stick with what I like!

@DoubleEgger   That's interesting, thanks for the response.  My only experience is with the gen 2, so I have limited experience.

Love gen 1 SW on my L and gen 2 on my XL.  Think there is little difference in performance between the two.

Tim your going to love the smobot, it's nice.   I used it this weekend for a chicken cook ( held 225 like a champ) and reverse sear steaks.   Looking forward to my third cook prior to writting up a full review of my findings.
