Where do you run your probe wire? Pics preferred.

I'm still very new to the BGE world, but based on the brief research I did on the same question, I plan on running my probes through the chimney vent holes. We'll see how well it works this weekend when I do my first 'low and slow' for Mothers Day.Jeremiah | La Canada Flintridge, CA | XL BGE

The temp probe goes on the grate and the meat probe goes in the meat.
I just run them over the gasket. I do have a high heat braided cover on the wires. Someone here recommended them. Works fine, just wish it was a smaller ID.

Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof. -
I also just run it through the gasket and try to keep it over one of the platesetter legs to block the direct heat. I have also lowered it through one of the holes in the daisy wheel but be careful with this as the metal gets hot. I wrapped it in foil and lowered it in to grid height.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

I left just a very tiny gap (maybe 1/16 inch) where one end of the gasket joins the other end on the bottom gasket. The top gasket is joined end to end as closely as possible, and that spot is offset from the bottom one.
That tiny gap in the bottom gasket is a great place to run the wire.Cincinnati, Ohio. Large BGE since 2011. Still learning. -
Thanks for the insight.
