If you do 'mess' with it, I suggest you take a look at the back of the egg where the upper band sits, does it ride parallel to the ridge of the egg, or is it hanging just a bit too low?

If it is not parallel, that will cause an overbite or in your case an underbite. That can be fixed by an adjustment.

For a large egg, lock the springs in place with the white tabs or zip ties. Loosen all 8 nuts that hold the assembly. Next, loosen the bands and reset the dome and base how you want them. Align the bands appropriately and tighten those first. Last thing is to snug down the 8 nuts holding the hinge assemble. Release the zip ties or white bands and you should be good.

Can you measure it for us? If it isn't all that much then it may not even be worth messing with it.

Pretty simple. Loosen the bands and realign. Make sure the bands are parallel to each other and near the edge of base and lid. Tighten up good and once you get some heat going, tighten good. This worked for me and have been good ever since.
