RIP Purple Rain

He was a marketing genius that got a ton of free publicity when people didn't know his name.

By the time he hit the scene, I was already loosing interest in contemporary pop music, which I suppose show my antiqueness. Had 2 good friend's who thought he was the greatest. "Silent Bob" was a big fan too. So I suppose he made lots of people happy w. his music.

But I did razz one of my friends when P dropped his name in favor of a symbol. Says me, "Hello Ladies and Gentlemen! Here he comes, so give it up for (sounds of raucous cheering), so here he come, uh, give it up for ...!?"
