Excited when I get back I got a few items waiting for me. Got the extender and the sliding rack for my large egg. Also a 16" drip pan to hopefully prevent any over cooked meat that was originally overhanging my plate setter??
Not sure if it's installed properly since I had someone do it while I'm out of town.
I cant really tell by the pictures but I'm hoping there's enough room for a pork butt or brisket under the top rack so I can have beans ect on the top.

I have the extender and rack. Looks like yours may be backward. The design as I was able to sort out from CGS and other posts here is that you slide the extender rack to the back to access the lower level and then shutting the dome repositions the rack to where it needs to be. At least that's how I use it. FWIW-Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. Looking at getting this same set up. Please update after using it.

Is this from CGS? I'm hoping to stop in there this summer while in Dallas, I need a way to raise my grid.

@feef706 Need to raise your grid?

But the ceramic grillworks is a little lot classier.
@bhedges1987 I have a shipment from CGS arriving Monday myself.

This is true, but do as I say, not as I do!blasting said:feef706 said:I need a way to raise my grid.

I have an AR with extender on my Large Egg. Just great!
I have also bought from CGS a woo ring for my Kamado Joe Jr,
Fabulous way of just raising the cooking grid. This gets me just a bit above the felt.John in the Willamette Valley of Oregon -
Anyone have pics of this set up in action?

Yeah it's from CGS. I'll update after I use it when I get back next week. Excited to give it a try.

Just a thought, but try the beans UNDER the butt or brisket. They will taste so much better with some meat drippings in them.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

I highly agree and recommend. I do this all the time when cooking beans and pork butt or brisket.caliking said:Just a thought, but try the beans UNDER the butt or brisket. They will taste so much better with some meat drippings in them.XL, WSM, Coleman Road Trip Gas GrillKansas City, Mo. -
@chuckytheegghead ... here is a CGS YouTube video of the AR with the extender ... look at three minutes in for how the extender is used.chuckytheegghead said:Anyone have pics of this set up in action?

Thanks @Jeepster47 for the YouTube link. I'm debating between the AR with extender or PSWOO2 with extender.

@chuckytheegghead ... the bottom line is that you can't go wrong with either choice.chuckytheegghead said:Thanks @Jeepster47 for the YouTube link. I'm debating between the AR with extender or PSWOO2 with extender.
