Cracked fire ring

Just a week old, I've used my Egg so much there's a good size crack in the fire ring. Is this a big deal? Are fire rings covered under warranty?

It's not a big deal, and yes, it is covered under warranty. It probably had a casting flaw given that it cracked after only a week.

Also, keep on egging while you wait for a new ring. It won't hurt a thing.

Yes it's covered and no it's not a big deal. Make your claim and keep it in reserve. Cracks don't change performance.

My fire ring is also cracked but my egg is 8 years old. Is it too late to make a warranty claim? How do I do so? I bought my egg local but I'm pretty sure my receipt is far gone.

I'm actually surprised they haven't put a stress cut in the fire ring like they did in the fire box.
