Knowing how much everyone loves their CI around here, I thought folks might like this article:

Lodge Cast Iron

Definitely a company that deserves the success they've had.

Great article. That town has lost a lot of manufacturing over the years including one of my companies plants. As well as our biggest competitors.

Nice little puff piece. I didn't realize the the Lodge company has been around that long.

I'm not into the collectible cast iron scene but when I see folks talking about that stuff I always see the Wagner and Griswold brands mentioned but never Lodge.

I guess Lodge gets the last laugh tho since those other companies are no longer around. :)

Very cool. I've always preferred Lodge CI because it was made in the USA.
I'm pleased to hear that they are well respected in their community.

As a proud owner of probably 20 pieces. I shared with both of my adult children, who I buy a piece for them every Christmas. I am sure they have their eye on my collection one day when I leave the planet as well.

I never knew of the family ties to the town. A great read.....thanks for sharing.

Thanks also..can't imagine ever buying anything else after (now) knowing what these people are all about. What a blessing after 46 years to be reduced to tears talking about your (work) family and what you all have created together.
