tiered type rack for a medium egg?

The main reason my family gave me my egg is to smoke fish.  Because I go out with some great fishermen, in season I often come home with good catch of highly smokeable fish from the Chesapeake Bay (bluefish, spanish mackerel an rockfish (aka Atlantic Stripped Bass).  After a good day I will need to smoke a lot of fish.

Most of the egg accessories I have seen that give you multiple rack layers are for the Large BGE (and up).  What do people do to get multi-level racks in a medium?  Are there such things on the market???

Seriously, have a look at Ceramic Grill Store's website. Lots of fun stuff there.

Serious note. I'm not certain anybody else made a two tier like CGW had. You can always just make your own 2nd tier.

I went to the CGS site and poked around a lot.  As close as I can tell the only things they sell for the Medium BGE are a Woo, wok ring, and kich ash.  The AR is only sold for the Large and larger.

can I some how use a medium Woo and another grill (smaller than the 15" that is standard to the Medium) to make a second tier?

  • Call Tom at CGS. He will help you.
  • It appears your hands are tied. You must buy a large and then the AR.

that sounds like what happened with my boat.  First I bought a boat and trailer.  Then the first accessory I had to get was a truck to tow that boat.  that set a pattern: nothing about owning a boat ever seemed to get any less a drain on my children's eventual inheritance   B)

I finally solved that  problem: now I fish with friends who have bigger and nicer boats than I ever could   =)
