Just got a new Minimax for my bday. In looking to get woo I noticed the size difference. Which one is the new ring? Does it matter? Why did they change?
if i do have the old ring should I be concerned?

It is not a big deal. This from the website.
IMPORTANT: Late 2015, BGE modified the MiniMax fire ring. Before ordering, you need to take a couple measurements. Measure the inside diameter of the fire ring across the top of the fire ring. And, measure the drop from the base felt line to the top of the fire ring:
If your measurements are approximately 11.25" ID and 0.75" drop, then order the 075 Mini Max Woo.
If your measurements are approximately 11.875" ID and 1.50" drop, then order the 150 Mini Max Woo.
Both Mini Max Woos function the same.

He first fire ring is sloppy fit. No big deal.

You want the one that fits the measurements of the egg you have. It is not a preferred issue, just matching the right Woo with the particular egg that you have.Ellijay GA with a Medium & MiniMax

They shrunk the fire ring and made the PS legs longer to get more room between the grill and the PS. How the KAB still fits perfectly has been my question yet this apparently isn't an issue.kdink said:Ok but why the change and which is preferred?
There may be more to the reasoning yet I'm guessing that even small changes make a difference in such a small space...or that the space is just so small that the opposite is true at higher temps. vs lower ones. -
If u just got it, more then likely its the 150 not .75. I havent ordered mine yet but its my 1st on the to do list since I just picked up mine too!Hunting-Fishing-Cookin' on my EGG! Nothing else compares!

Here is mothership response to my questions. "Here's what the big change is all about. The old fire ring is taller (3") and has a convEGGtor with short legs (1.5"). The new design, the new fire ring is shorter (2") and the plate setter has longer legs (2"). So as you can see the changes are pretty minor. The overall height is just a little bit lower on the new version. These changes were about aesthetics and doing some fine tuning. I used the original version and it works great." 2nd response about replacement parts. "No, once the old plate setters are gone, they will be gone for good. The old fire ring will always be available because it's a small fire ring."2 Xl's, MM and Forno Bello
