SRF rookie has shipping question?

For those that have ordered from SRF before, I'm ready to place my first order and I'm curious on the shipping experience. I am thinking of ordering one of the 12 steak gold gift packs, and I need the meat to arrive frozen, not chilled. We are a small family so this 12 steak pack is probably 2 months worth of meat for us (one 6 person party planned, plus steak for two, 3 times). Therefore I need to be able to go from shipping crate to freezer.
My question is, Is the $9.99 standard shipping OK (to Houston) to ensure the meat will arrive frozen. I don't want it to have partially thawed and then not be able to refreeze. The express shipping at $40 is a lot more for only an extra day. But if I'm ordering $500-600 of steaks, I'm not sure if it's worth the risk.
Appreciate any advice from those with past experience.

It'll be frozen. My orders to GA have always been frozen solid. @SRFShane can chime in tomorrow...

Everything I received was received frozen solid with the regular shipping, and I'm farther than you from them. I would only elect for the faster shipping if you need it faster. You would not have any noticeable drop in quality if the outside of the meat were just starting to thaw and you re-froze. If there was some shipping glitch and they came unfrozen, I would think you could make a claim. Anyway, there's a forum member that works there that may be able to help you out. @SRFShane

I'm with the above regarding always arriving frozen solid with regular shipping. But I get the order on day two after it is processed.
I would give them a call and ask-their customer service is top-notch so they will be able to let you know.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint. -
Go ahead and press the order button. You will be fine and much job will be had over the next couple of months.Ellijay GA with a Medium & MiniMax

I'm in Northeast PA and everything arrives frozen solid as a rock, even midsummer 95*. Occasionally the dry ice is gone. But the product is solid.

You should be fine. We pack enough dry ice to make sure it's frozen when it arrives...only issues are when there is inclement weather or UPS delays (hence the disclaimer). But, especially in the non-summer months, you will be just fine. If for any reason it's not, just give us a call and we'll get you taken care of.
