After teaching BGE cooking classes for the past 9 years I'm backing off. Tomorrow I will be demoing using a wok on the egg. I plan to serve at 11:30 12:00 12:30 and 1:00. Location is Hearth & Patio, 8304 N University. In between I'll have BGE Kettle Korn to munch on. Weather forecast is a pleasant 61º and sunny.

61 degrees is jean shorts weather! Have fun tomorrow!

You will have fun doing a wok class. It's so easy, and so easy to clean up afterward. And it's great for the class. The wok is just one more of the 'must-have' EGGcessories.

All jokes aside. Will someone be videoing? I'd like to see how others wok. I just do what I do and it works for me, but sometimes a better way could be found.RRP said:

Not that I know of. I'm like you - I just do what I learned somewhere years ago or maybe taught myself bad habits. But I get my egg up to 325 or so with my wok in resting on a spider legs down. When I'm ready to wok I close my bottom vent entirely. Add the oil and soon thereafter the meat. When cooked to my liking I remove the meat and dump in my veggies and cook until tender. Then add meat back along with whatever sauce I'm using. Serve over white rice.tarheelmatt said:

I haven't been a fan of the few that I've tried so far, but I'm not opposed to trying more of their beer. I haven't had a chance to make it to the tap room yet either so I might as well stop in if I'm right there.saluki2007 said:

Ron I hope you enjoy doing the demos. I sure do/did when I was doing them last year. Bringing out the big guns with the wok on the first demo. Nice!LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

Turn out was dismal which was highly due to the fact the demo was not advertised, nor was an email sent to their customer base of eggers. The owner did post something on her Face Book page. That only drew one couple, but at least they drove over clear from Galesburg. When all said and done including their staff I only fed 15. BTW your father joined us.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time -
Yep, I stayed through two demos and ate twice. Very informative for me ... thanks Ron.
