Fire box and ring in large

so my medium fit perfectly. Is this gap normal in a large. There is a decent amount of room in here.

You can see from the position of it on the firebox that it does not look like the ring is centered. Hard to tell unless you take straight down squared off shot and put some reference around where the gap is all the way around. Just a thought.

It's not. I was just showing how much extra space is there. My medium fits really tight when it's centered.

Here is a centered picture. About 1/2" all the way around. Should I keep it centered or push to a particular side. Also, I always thought the fire ring was supposed to be positioned so there is the short leg at the very back so the plate setter sits there. Is this incorrect? Thanks

I just ran out and measured my Large, it looks to be really close to ⅜. I purchased it in June last year. Don't know if that helps you out or not. Good luck with it.

It's fine. No need to measure.

Yours looks right. And yes you can put one of the notches in the back. That's the way I have mine.

Thanks. The putting your egg together video on BHE.com I watched showed differently. I always thought it was supposed to be there so when the plate setter is in it helps with the extra heat in the back.
