Big Green Egg Wins in Mt.Vernon,IL

At the Mt.Vernon,Ill contest this weekend the first and second place chicken were cooked on BGE respectively. Our team Ulcer Acers BBQ won first place while second place chicken was won by Shigs N Pits. Great showing in Illinois on the eggs. Also Troy "Sprinter" put on another great contest. Good time had by all.

Good for you guys!!! Did Old Dave participate either with you or as a contestant? Congrats to you and Marla! PS remember me from your "wet" weekend in Peoria two years ago? and then last year I helped Old Dave as a gofer's gofer for Marla while you were out East. I never heard but I assumed I screwed up the pictures Marla asked me to take!!!

Yes, Ol'Dave was there right beside us cooking on his own team. He was giving tech support to me on the egg. We even cooked a Grits Casserole for breakfast. We cooked two pans on the plate setter with an extender. I bet we had 15 or so people come over and eat. They could not believe that you could bake something like that on an egg.

I dont have any pics right now. A friend from college was there taking some pics so I will get them and get them up . It was some action photos of egg cooking on a world famous 'Ol Dave soon to be patened "Contraption"
