I like Rockwood as much as the next guy but your using a heart in the thread title is almost as chick like as that guy's pep talk artwork.

Just found this after burning a bag of Royal Oak. I think I've heard that this is a probably a part of the kiln? I'd worry about the structural integrity after a dozen bags or so... -
@Elijah never seen that before
-
I'd get those when I burned BGE lump. Maybe not quite so big...
-
That's probably the largest I've found. There's plenty of it though when I burn royal oak

Agree with slovelad, and even DoubleEgger a bit (-:
Been very pleased with all my orders from them.Stillwater, MN -

^^ Now that right there is funny stuff @DoubleEgger^^
While we're at it, can we talk about grown men using the cutesy emojis?
This is a delicate one, since some of my favorite posters use them. I just feel men around the world die, just a little, each time one is used...
btw, congrats on your lump delivery @slovelad. xoxoxo (just bustin' chops)Phoenix -

It's weird the differing experiences some people have when using Royal Oak.Elijah said:That's probably the largest I've found. There's plenty of it though when I burn royal oak
I haven't found a single rock of any size in any bags of RO I have used in at least the past couple of years.
The only non-organic thing I have had in a bag in the past couple years was about a 6" length of metal strapping of the kind used to bind stuff to pallets or around boxes.
Of course, now I have probably jinxed it and my next bag will be nothing but rocks.

I got a rock like that the other day in a bag of Humphries. It was horrible, I didn't find it until the next day and had to pick it out BY HAND and then THROW IT like 5 FEET!THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

When this tumbled out of the bag, I never bought Cowboy lump again:

Royal Oak is my go-to lump--affordable and consistently clean. An occasional stone, but small enough to chuck into the woods without the need of a backhoe.
Beef...It's what's for dinner tonight. -
@News2u wow!!! That's like a 2 dollar rock lol!
-
@HeavyG Royal Oak uses a number of different facilities. My guess is good/bad depends on which facility your distributor gets their Royal Oak from
I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

I placed an order with Firecraft last Tuesday (Five bags of Rockwood and some fire starter cubes) and they processed and shipped it the same day.
FedEx delivered the package to the wrong address on Thursday and had issues with retrieving the package.
I called Firecraft on Friday, spoke w/ their customer service department and they ACTUALLY CARED about my issue. They got involved with FedEx and my Rockwood was delivered that night.
I will be ordering again.

Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
I've mentioned this before. Walmart super centers here in Jacksonville lately have been selling only 8.8 lb bags of Royal Oak. But at $6.58 a bag or $.75 a lb, no one in town can beat the price even if they match it.
In Florida (probably in other states, too), if you buy charcoal or lump in a grocery store, you pay no sales tax. So when, say, Lowe's or Home Depot come down to Walmart's price, which sometimes they do around certain holidays, it still behooves you to slide by a Walmart Super Center to avoid the 7% sales tax.
Call me cheap, call me incorrigible, call me beyond redemption, but here we try to offset the cost of lubrication any way we can:

Looks like an olive, but refracted because of the water and glass.
I don't get the reference, but that's all I can see. -
