Thermoworks' banner

Received an e-mail from ThermoWorks today and like Pavlov's dog I clicked on it ... boy do they have me trained.  This banner showed up for the first time:

Sounds like Green Egg's admonition to not buy gray market stuff.  Anybody know the back story on this?

Sounds like they had a tiff with Amazon. I bought a Thermopop through Amazon (order filled by Thermoworks) some time ago. They replaced it when it malfunctioned, without any fuss. Maybe they have changed their policy.

TW products did not qualify for Prime shipping, so may as well order direct from the company i guess.

What's interesting is that Amazon still lists the Thermoworks products.  Order filled by Thermoworks at three times the thermoworks.com price, as well as, other suppliers at twice the thermoworks.com price.  I'm puzzled!

I bought a couple Thermoworks items on Amazon many years ago but in more recent years I haven't seen any of their stuff sold directly by them on Amazon or Amazon itself.

It seems now that all the Thermoworks stuff on Amazon is sold by third parties and all too often third parties charge outrageous prices.

My guess is that Thermoworks just got fed up with Amazon's refusal to do anything about those third party vendors and their pricing. It would seem to damage the Thermoworks brand when some knucklehead is charging $200+ for a Thermapen.

The mk4 thermopen is 99 dollars on the Thermoworks site.  I just checked my Amazon "wish list" and it shows up as $249.00 in there.
