Hi everyone. I am going to replace my gaskets and I cannot find those little red pieces that help with the band install. Is there another way to install the bands without having those pieces? TIA

I would go back to your dealer as they seem to help the process. They didn't exist when I landed in BGE country.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

If you don't get anywhere, just PM your address and I'll send them to you.

I don't use them. I put the lower band as high up as you can and parallel and the upper band as low as you can and parallel. Parallel to each other. Or the lip. All the same. Also, once I tighten, on my next cook, I will give the bolts another turn or two. Mine just loosen up under heat. Even double nut. After that, I'm solid as a rock. All those pieces do is to keep your bands from flying apart when you loosen the topmost bolts. The danger is the band could fly up and hit you in the teeth or break your nose. The safest way is when the dome is wide-open take a pair of pliers and remove the springs. The other option which is a little harder to to do is with the dome closed work a couple of those nylon wire bundling ties so as to secure the bands together. BTW those used to be white.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

If you basically line them up with the ceramic edges both top and bottom, you will be perfect. @RRP is talking about the white plastic hinge safety device I believe. Not the same thing.

Thanks for posting as I have never even seen those things. I haven't had to replace a gasket in 12 years now for "another reason" so what do I know about those clips? LOLScottNC said:They are talking about these...
