Added MiniMax on a whim...

I hadn't been into my local BGE dealer for a while so while I was out yesterday I stopped in just to say Hi. I ended up leaving with a MiniMax which I've kinda had in the back of my mind for a while. I assembled it and then decided to install an extra Rutland Gasket I had from RRP. I'm going to leave the upper gasket on for now and see how it works out.I have to say removing an "uncooked" gasket is a breeze. I got a KAB and SS Rolling cart on order for it today. Should be getting it's fair share of use since most of the time I'm cooking just for myself. Love this forum, learn something new almost everyday from here!

I still haven't seen the minimax in person as I haven't been to the dealer in over a year. It looks so cute in the pictures, but I still have a soft spot for the mini I never bought.

    welcome!  that thing looks great.

@northgacock how do you like yours?  I'm interested in a 2nd egg for smaller, quick cooks, like burgers or brats or chicken, and trying to figure out what the best 2nd option is, short of buying both a small and a medium of course

Where did you order the cart from? I'm trying to find one for my new MM, welcome to the club, got one for Christmas and love it, worked great on the road for the holidays, was able to smoke a 7lb butt at a friends house who doesn't have a grill.

Impulse buy or not you won't regret it. As you already stated the the new OE gasket is much easier to remove prior to any cooks. Why not stick to the formula and pull the dome gasket now. Enjoy. Welcome to the MM club

Thanks for the replies, lets see... Chubbs not sure you were asking me or nGA, I got mine from Hearth & Home in Murphy, NC, I got this cart from Amazon and am going to cut the 36" Height down to about 25", might even be able to just eliminate one section of each leg, not sure, but want it lower. Also I like the solid SS top with rounded edge. The table was $89.99 w/free shipping, I've seen the same one elsewhere for as high as $149 so I think it's a pretty good deal I'll follow up when I get it next week. Can't wait to dump some lump into it.          Amazon link if you're interested:  http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=+Stainless+Steel+Professional+Kitchen+Cart+Cutting+Table&rh=i:aps,k:+Stainless+Steel+Professional+Kitchen+Cart+Cutting+Table

Fish, the carton says 90lbs, so 80 something, it's heavy but one person can lift and move it.

@blind99  I am please so far. I have only cooked some burgers / steak / chicken requiring searing. I did not purchase the plate setter, opting to purchase a woo.....which is finally on order. (I have another post regarding that process)......so not low and slow cooks as yet.

So far, if can say that it fires up more quickly, holds less lump (savings) and yet has some learning curve to it. I own a medium as my first egg, so this is perfect for my wife and I on week night dinners etc... I am very pleased and look forward to taking it on vacation, tailgating etc. I struggled (considered) with the mini as I believe many on here are big fans. The lighter weight mini.....was attractive, but at the end of the day, I went with the larger grilling surface. I really don't see how you can go wrong with any of these products.

I have that exact table and use it as a little mobile prep table I can move to various grills.

I positioned the sliding basket right up near the top and keep my Mapp torch and a few other items in there. Keeps them out of the rain (except on those occasions when the rain comes down sideways :)).

HeavyG, do you recall the number of sections the legs have? I'm interested because I want the top lower, around 25"H.

HeavyG, How has the stainless held up to the elements? I was eying one at SAMs but I think the Amazon table is a better deal, just wouldn't want it to rust too bad in Florida. I know it's "stainless" but not all is created equal..

Didn't remember so I just went out to look and ...couldn't see a joint seam. I thought they were two sections screwed together but I dug up the pdf of the assembly: https://www.sevilleclassics.com/uploads/products/pdf_20130318185339_18321-instructions.pdf

And it is showing them as one solid leg.

The table top just press fits right onto the end of the legs so you should be able to cut off whatever you need to from the "open" end (not the end the caster screw into).

It's kinda funny but I bought that with the original intent of putting my Kamado Joe Jr. on that but decided I really liked having a little mobile prep table of that height. So I just bought a different cart for the KJ Jr.

A week or so later I bought this cart for the KJ Jr.:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DZZ0R0A?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage

Didn't need to saw anything as all the shelves are adjustable.

The table top is the only part that is stainless and it is just fine.

The rest of the cart is just chrome plated and there is some light rust in some parts but nothing serious. I actually only noticed it for the first time tonight when I went out to take close look at the legs to try and answer ScottNc's question.

This table/cart is totally exposed to the elements - never under a roof or a cover. I'm a few miles from the Virginia oceanfront but salt air really isn't a problem that far inland but we probably don't have as much humidity year round as does much of Florida.

Made a couple of changes to my new MM while I'm waiting on my table. Ordered the adapter for the SmokeWare, Picked up a SmokeWare at my dealers along with a CI Grate, then added some stainless hardware so my SS Grate can be used for raised cooks. Never ends!

It is time to get that thing dirty. It want hurt you to bend over a bit until the table comes.....trust me, you are going to need to bend over frequently (exercise and in the wallet) soon enough. You might as well get started. And good luck.
