Have a xl love it my question is what's next I want to add a large and mini max to my collection but not sure what to get first
thinking mm Bc of being able to travel with it fairly easy and thinking it would still hold a small brisket and pork butt is this true?
pro and cons of mm...
or what egg would y'all want next???

Sounds like you should get a Minimax next, if you are thinking of travelling with it. Then get the LBGE

You can fit a 7-8# butt on a mm. I'm thinking some creativity would be needed to get a brisket of any size, but you could roll it maybe. Check out some of @anton briskets on his med. something similar.

I would get the MM. It's a perfect compliment to the XL.XL BGE; Medium BGE; L BGE

How many people do you normally cook for?
I got a Large first, but live alone and after too many nights of heating up the Large, to cook a hot dog, I went with a Small too (let's not talk about the cost/benefit analysis, I wanted two Eggs!)
If you normally travel with just your SO, I'd recommend the MM.“Declare victory when you have retreated past the point where you started” - Don Tzu

Depending on the size of your cooks you may wanna look at the mini as well. I have a large, small & the mini. For the 2 of us the mini gets used the most and is my favorite egg. It travels easy and I've done a several cooks for 4 while we are at the lake or elsewhere. The small has traveled too but not quite as easily as the mini.-----------------------------------------analyze adapt overcome2008 -Large BGE. 2013- Small BGE and 2015 - Mini. Henderson, Ky.

Get a large, no brainier! Volume wins

the mini size is a surprising cooking machine, i use it more than my large. have done several brisket points for pastrami on it. over 20 wings in one setup. i moved my small over to a friends camp, just stopped using it. my mini is a vision knockoff which went on sale for 99 dollars, couldnt pass that up, its not as nice as an egg but still does the job

The damn mini max is not as portable as one might think. It is a heavy little bugger. At 80lbs. Biggest waste of cash I have made. Have 2 of them and never even fired either one up. Still like the mini for camping and such as it is only 35lbs.1 XXL BGE, 1 LG BGE, 2 MED. BGE, 1 MINI BGE, 1 Peoria custom cooker Meat Monster.Clinton, Iowa

Thanks for sharing, I tried lifting a mm at a dealer demo and it wasn't easy, thought it was just mebadinfluence said:The damn mini max is not as portable as one might think. I heard they are coming out with mm type carrier for the mini, wonder how heavy the carrier is
edit: not that I'm interested in buying either.canuckland -
@cannugghead they have a carrier for the mini. It is aftermarket and not to cheap at 150.00. I have not needed it for the mini.
And rest assured it was it was not just you. I walk with a cane and only weight about 160 so yeah the mini max is heavy for me to pick up and carry safely.1 XXL BGE, 1 LG BGE, 2 MED. BGE, 1 MINI BGE, 1 Peoria custom cooker Meat Monster.Clinton, Iowa -
I would get a medium. It compliments the XL nicely.
It could be portable in a pinch.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

Well I went with the mini max ALOT smaller than the xl but it seems to hold everything I am wanting it to may have to tie up a larger pork butt a cut ribs in half but I think I will like it for high heat cookin (steaks pork chops wings and chicken breast) goin to put a few burgers on it after while to find out
however dose anyone of y'all use a guru or cybrerq or y'alls mini max small or mini
if so how do y'all set the damper for low and slow I am thinking almost closed -

Buy a medium or large and get a Weber kettle for the road.
