Advantage: Rutland

The benefits of a Rutland gasket have been covered numerous times here, including the theory that they are better than felt when it comes to freezing temperatures. We were lucky enough in Central Illinois to get enough freezing rain earlier this week to knock out power for days to some including me. Time to cook for a few people yesterday and guess what, the mini max and small (FELT) are frozen shut, but the large (RUTLAND) opens with zero problem.
For the new owners: don't worry about break-in temps or ruining your factory gasket. Melt that thing off as soon as possible with a pizza cook and order a Rutland to replace it.
Advantage Mini Max: it's easy to move somewhere warm to thaw

Cooked some pig shots for tasty apps (grill temp ran a little hot for part of the cook)

Then just grilled some simple burgers with DP Raising the Steaks and grilled veg sprinkled with some MC Deez Nuts

Polished off this big ass bottle of Anchor Brewing Christmas Ale and had a good New Years

Nicely done!LBGE (still waitin' for my free T-Shirt), DIgiQ DX2 (In Blue, cause it's the fastest), Heavy Duty Kick Ash Basket, Mc Farland, WI.

If it wasn't for my BGE I'd have no use for my backyard... -
Actually, it's easier to remove the OEM gasket before you ever use your new egg. Just rip it off an install the Rutland. THEN light the egg and enjoy years of trouble free egging (six for me... so far... still looks and works as good as new).Tbent said:

Nice cook!I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Even better advice, @Carolina Q. I'll take it and order some asap. I'll tear off the new OEM mini max gasket now.L, S, MM, Mini
