Metal table?

I've seen a lot of discussion about wooden tables, but not much about stainless steel tables. What are the drawbacks to steel, other than price?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I have a stainless steel table that sits next to my XL Egg. It's where my Mini Max sits and I do all my work. Love it.Steve

There are challenger, which are aluminum and SS. They have colored finishes on them. Very high quality and weatherproof compartments. They also have a lifetime warranty on the finish. Normal care needs to be used to not burn the finish, but not a big deal IMO.
There is also all SS tables fabricated by @Tspud1. I don't have any experience with them personally, yet, but they appear to be extremely professional. I would say desert type heat would be the only real drawback for a metal table. Outside of that, I feel, they are superior in every way to a wooden ones. Not to disparage the multitude of beautiful custom tables you will find here and elsewhere. -
You have any pics? I'm looking to do this with my large and new MMYEMTrey said:I have a stainless steel table that sits next to my XL Egg. It's where my Mini Max sits and I do all my work. Love it. -

I've since added tubs underneath. One has a couple bags of lump in it, the other bin has my wood chunks/chips and a few accessories. Bought a cover for the table and have never looked back.Steve

^^^^ So I am prepping my move this week and will start construction on my outside kitchen experiment in January. I am thinking about doing this set up above with my LBGE and my stainless table but fence it in with wood and put a little slanted roof with a light so I can see and that way the smoke will billow out away from me and I can keep my charcoal bags dry. I love my stainless table, its easier to clean and if I spill anything I don't worry about it. Full disclosure though I didn't pay for it, I found it in my dad's garage while he was cleaning it out and said to find a home for it.

I like it, where did you pick up the table? Do you just use a gas grill cover?YEMTrey said:I've since added tubs underneath. One has a couple bags of lump in it, the other bin has my wood chunks/chips and a few accessories. Bought a cover for the table and have never looked back. -
I picked up the table from a local restaurant supply store, and bought a table cover for it from: http://www.the-cover-store.com/

I had a stainless steel table made when I had my XL. I preferred stainless because it doesn't burn or stain and its easy cleaning.

The BGE brand tables look nice, but they are pricey as all heck. Has anyone seen them in person, or do you own one? Comments? (I wouldn't get one simply because of the price, at my age I can't amortize it advantageously.)

They are made by Challenger. They are customized in shape and color for BGE. You can buy more standard ones with the same quality for @half the cost. The BGE ones are the bomb if $ is no object.Mosca said:The BGE brand tables look nice, but they are pricey as all heck. Has anyone seen them in person, or do you own one? Comments? SS drawbacks? FL summertime the surface gets hot from direct sunlight if you're not using an umbrella etc. Sorry I can't think of anything else. I can't imagine having anything but a quality SS table now.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd.
