FlameBoss 200 question, first impressions, some food

I got the FB 200 to help out with long cooks when I can't be around.  Initial impressions: it was easy to set up.  Plugged it in, followed the instructions, and it took just a few minutes to get it connected to my wifi.  You can run it straight from the unit, or configure the settings from the web.  you make an account on myflameboss.com and register your device, then change the settings from your browser.  The unit feels solid, and the probes seem high quality.

lighting the egg and getting up to temp has been easy.  I started about half a chimney of lump then dumped that onto the top of the coals in the egg, put in the platesetter, closed up the egg and started the FB200.  It came up to temp quickly and was locked in by 30 minutes.  Daisy wheel almost totally closed.

My question is - can I only access the unit from one browser?  when I try to look from other computers I can't get at the current cook, or old cooks, ie http://myflameboss.com/cooks/9992

Here are a few cooks.  Used the FB200 to keep the egg on and low while I was getting things ready for Xmas eve, did a strip roast for dinner, with reverse sear that almost lit me on fire.  very dramatic.  brisket cook a few days later, ran it around 275 for about 8 hours, pecan chunks for smoke, no wrapping, came out great.  Pics aren't mine - BIL took them for his instagram.

    Nice pics of nice grub.

I can an access the same cook in progress from an iPhone , android, desktop, or iPad without a problem. I log in from each device , and usually don't have a problem.

@caliking thanks, good to know.  whether I log in or not it only works from one device.  mostly my phone. it worked for a little while from my home computer, and during that time not from my phone.  I emailed the company, maybe something's wrong with my account setup.

thanks @bgebrent!  next year I'm asking for a nomex suit for christmas :)

You can track cooks without logging in ...

with that said, I have used a PC, a MacBook Air, and my android phone all on the same cook.

Great write up. FlameBoss makes an awesome product.

But what really caught my attention was the spatula. I have the same one. Sic 'em Bears!!

Edited- actually I take that back. Mine has BU cut out of the metal, not a Bear. Now I want one like yours.

There will be a special place in hell for IT folks who simply can't leave stuff alone.  If it isn't broken, don't fix it!

Checked out my android phone using Chrome and could see my past cooks.  Checked out my iPad using Chrome and Safari ... yep, could see my cooks.  Used my lap top with Firefox - my normal browser - and now the beautiful curves don't show up.  Damn.  Tried explorer and got the same result.  Tried Chrome and could see the wonderful graph porn again. Hmmm ...

Called Michael at Flameboss - still amazed when he answers the phone personally - to ask for some guidance.  He says they are aware of the problem and working on trying to uncover what changed.  Some folks have fixed the problem by updating the operating systems on their mobile devices.  Others have, like me, simply switched browsers as a workaround.

@griffin If you want it, I'll send you my Chicago bears spatula - unfortunately I don't have a Baylor bears model!
