Smoking wood in north Georgia
Lit
Posts: 9,053
Just a heads up for anyone local. I have been getting different types of wood from Joe for 5 years or so. Always quality and a good guy plus it's really good prices. I got a box of green apple, pecan, and hickory today and a bag of fig chunks. Total was $35 and I met him at the mall of Georgia. He will cut whatever size you want I have even got a half cord of white oak before. Took a pic of his card if anyone is interested pretty sure he also ships.

No problem @bgebrent. The boxes of wood I got are 6" chunks but he will cut them to 3" chunks also and they fit better for the egg.

I've purchased some from him as well. A good price and quality wood.

Cool. I need to restock.

Shoot, looks like his website isn't operating.

I haven't checked his website in awhile. I usually just call or text him. Pretty sure he has a Facebook page also.Eggcelsior said:Shoot, looks like his website isn't operating. -

Let me know what wood you'd want and I'll bring it to ya if you like.Sandy Springs & Dawsonville Ga -
I used to sell firewood in college. I wish I would have savvy enough to know about the BBQ market and what folks pay for wood. I could've drank higher quality beer back then!

Fig is really good it's sweet one of my favorites but he doesn't have it all the time. It's sweet like apple or peach but it seems to give a little more color like cherry.northGAcock said:The first thing that came to mind was that ain't what they are smoaking in North Georgia......but having red the post......I appreciate the lead.
